Hi!! My name is Jacque Van Maanen. Just want to start out by saying I really enjoy taking these book studies! This is the last one I plan to take, I have really enjoyed the books I picked. I am a First Grade teacher. I have been teaching for 34 years. I shiver when I type that number in because that's a long time to be in the classroom! I still love it each day and am so thankful for my job! Can't wait to dive into this book!

ReplyDeleteHi, I am Holly Smith. I currently teach 2nd Grade at a private Christian School but the majority of my career was spent teaching in the inner cities of Phoenix, Arizona. I have taught 5th, 4th, 2nd, K, and I was a Reading Coach and Reading Interventionist. I loved every role but K and 2nd are my favorites. I didn't really enjoy the leadership roles. I love just working with kids and being a teacher is just such a special calling. I am grateful to serve. ReplyDeleteHi, I'm Kayla, and I'm a 2nd grade teacher at Harrisburg. This is my 12th year of teaching in public schools, and 10 of them were in 4th grade. Prior to that I also taught preschool for 2 years and managed a daycare center for 2 years. I'm a mom of 2 kids and look forward to reading this book and using some insight gained for work and my personal relationships.

I am in my 13th year of teaching and I am loving everything about it. I started as an elementary teacher for a few years. After that, I did six years of middle school and now I am at the high school and I don't ever see myself dropping back down to the lower grade levels.

I live on a farm with my husband and 4 children. I spend my time shuttling my children to their various events, chasing my 1 yo...and doing laundry. I am looking forward to this book study. I have loved all the book studies I have taken from Transform Your Classroom. I am excited to read this book as it can be hard to have conversations with parents sometimes without it sounding negative (or at least I think it comes across that way) I'm hoping it will provide me with better ways of handling co-worker conversations too.

I have worked in education since 2000.Most of my time in education has been at the middle and high school levels. I have two children. My oldest will graduate this May from Morningside University and my son is a high school junior. I love spending time with my family and can't wait until summer when finding time to get away is easier.
My name is Monica Beck. I retired in May of 2025 after teaching Special Education for more than 40 years. I currently do part time work for some school districts in my area.
